Role Description
As an ALDI Regional Fleet Manager, you direct multi-site commercial fleet operations, capital equipment planning, and fleet maintenance strategy across multiple regional distribution centers. You oversee large-scale tractor-trailer leasing contracts, monitor division-wide DOT safety compliance, implement fleet telematics software upgrades, and manage multi-million-dollar fleet maintenance budgets. Working closely with corporate supply chain executives and regional distribution center directors, the Regional Fleet Manager drives equipment reliability, fuel efficiency, and fleet safety across the regional network. This role is 100% physical and strictly requires full on-site presence at distribution facilities (zero remote capability).
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee regional commercial fleet operations, managing equipment leasing, maintenance contracts, and capital replacement cycles.
- Direct division-wide DOT and FMCSA regulatory compliance, safety auditing, and driver qualification files.
- Analyze fleet telematics data, implementing division action plans to optimize fuel economy and route safety.
- Manage relationships with national commercial vehicle manufacturers, reefer suppliers, and maintenance vendors.
- Oversee regional fleet operational budgets, controlling fuel expense, maintenance costs, and capital expenditures.
- Mentor facility-level Fleet Managers and Transportation Supervisors across regional distribution centers.
- Lead corporate sustainability initiatives, including fleet electrification and alternative fuel testing.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transportation, or Business required.
- Minimum 5+ years of multi-site commercial fleet management experience in heavy transportation.
- In-depth expertise in DOT/FMCSA regulations, fleet telematics, and heavy equipment maintenance.
- Proven strategic leadership, financial budgeting, and vendor negotiation skills.
Job Type & Schedule
- Job Type: Full-Time (100% On-Site).
- Schedule: Full-time executive logistics schedule including regional facility travel as required.
