Role Description

As an ALDI Night Dispatch Transportation Supervisor, you manage overnight fleet dispatching, driver departures, roadside emergency response, and early morning store delivery tracking. Working during overnight operational windows, you ensure that commercial drivers dispatch safely on schedule, monitor overnight reefer trailer temperatures, handle breakdown calls, and manage yard hostlers. Your leadership ensures that store delivery trucks arrive at retail docks on schedule before morning store openings. This position is 100% physical and strictly requires full on-site presence at the distribution facility during night hours (no remote options allowed).

Key Responsibilities

• Direct overnight fleet dispatch operations, ensuring commercial drivers depart on schedule with verified store loads.
• Monitor real-time fleet telematics, tracking overnight transit routes and driver HOS compliance.
• Manage roadside emergency calls, dispatching heavy towing or mobile repair mechanics for breakdown incidents.
• Supervise overnight yard hostler operations, dock door placements, and trailer staging routines.
• Enforce overnight facility security, driver gate access control, and pre-trip inspection compliance.
• Maintain communication with morning store receiving leads regarding overnight delivery schedule changes.
• Deliver night-shift driver coaching, telematics reviews, and safety briefings.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; supervisory experience in commercial transportation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, driver logging (ELD), and roadside breakdown protocols.
• Ability to work overnight shift schedules consistently (e.g., 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM).
• Excellent decision-making, communication, and problem-solving skills under night operational conditions.

Job Type & Schedule

• Job Type: Full-Time (100% On-Site).
• Schedule: Full-time overnight schedule including weekend and holiday rotational coverage.
